Mission: Taking Chances
Location: USS Bonne Chance, Deck 6, Sickbay
Timeline: 2265

ON

Lt Yuna Celes made her way to sickbay, her guts churning as to why LT Charybdis was in sickbay. There was no-one else listed as being there apart from the medical staff and her. Great. That never bode well - she obviously wasn't visiting someone else.

As she arrived in sickbay, she was met by the nurse on duty, who blocked her path when she tried to step around.

" I'm sorry, the Lt has been sedated and cannot be disturbed" the nurse said firmly, her body language anything but confident. Why was she suddenly afraid of her?

Yuna took a breath, focusing her nervous energy into a more practical sense.

" I need to know what happened, what is she being treated for?" Yuna said simply, making a conscious effort to relax her body and not appear aggressive.

The nurse stuck to her guns.

" I can't reveal that information to anyone apart from the Captain"

" Damnit - just let me see her, I promise I won't wake her..." Celes' ire started to flare again and the nurse instinctively took a step back. She looked around nervously, obviously not wanting a confrontation.

" Fine... just... just don't wake her up." The nurse all but bolted, leaving Yuna alone with the sedated Science Chief. Quietly the Trill approached, keeping her footsteps as light as they were when she was fighting. Move like a butterfly, sting like a bee. True to the nurses' word, Charybdis lay peacefully the biobed, covered with a light blanket, her eyes gently closed.

" Oh my.... oh my...." Yuna breathed, guilt ridden, her conscience berating her for not being more careful during their sparring. She laid a delicately spotted hand on her friend's shoulder, as if to express her remorse and concern.

" Char... I'm so so sorry," the words were almost as quiet as the science chief's breathing. How could Yuna face her for the away team in the morning knowing what she'd done?
