Mission: Operation: Risa!
Location: Risa, Roma Arcology, Empress hotel penthouse suite
Timeline: 2265

The diminutive engineer went to her room chuckling at being sent off to nap before the evening festivities. She took a quick shower to get the pool scent off of her then went and sprawled on the giant cloud of a bed. She luxuriated in the silky sweet-smelling sheets then snuggled into the pillows with an appreciative moan. She stroked the fabric enjoying the feel of it beneath her fingertips. Say what you will, but Risan's took their luxuries seriously.

She reached for one of her tech manuals intending to read but the siren's song of the plush pillows lured her so deeply in to the arms of Morpheus that she didn't even move until the wakeup alarm she'd set began to ping merrily.

Rolling over with a groan Fiona slapped at the alarm until it shut down. She did a stretch that a Caitian would approve of and then sat up blinking at the ruddy sunlight streaming in to the room.

She would have been perfectly content to spend the rest of her leave time right here in this room, listening to the sounds of the sea and being a human sloth, but Char had big plans and she didn't want to disappoint her friend. The younger woman had worked so hard to make a nice time for them all. She lay back against the pillows mussing over the conversation that they'd had earlier.

"Jay-sus, was I ever that young?" she asked herself softly. She worried about Char. The Vulcan was so earnest and she tried so hard that Fi could see major pitfalls opening up in front of her and she was worried that the gentle giantess would do herself some lasting harm...especially where the Captain was concerned. She sighed. Her mother's voice played in her head "Fionnghuala Terlag McCray, I don't care if they're as charming as auld scratch himself, never ever get involved with a superior officer. It will only end in tears." She sighed. That's precisely where she feared Char was headed, but for tonight...they'd have a great time.

While she didn't relish the idea of dressing up and barhopping- it wasn't her style- she would just put on her big girl panties and deal. With a groan she rolled to her feet and padded over to the closet. She didn't much care for dressing up, but she did love beautiful colors and rich fabrics. She wasn't flamboyant, but she did have a natural sense of good taste augmented by watching her mother. Even though she was nearing 70, Bonnie McCray was elegantly stunning enough to turn heads when she entered a room. Her marvelous manners and charm hadn't worn off on her youngest offspring, but her good taste had.

Fiona's makeup routine was simple. Just enough powder and color to polish what was there followed up with a dab of her favorite perfume. For once she didn't try to tame her hair into a braid or bun but brushed it until the curls crackled and shone then pulled it back from her face with a deep aubergine band that matched the darkest purple in the flirty little ombre cocktail dress she'd settled on. The bodice fit like a second skin subtly boosting what mother nature had given the elfin woman. The full skirt was pleasingly floaty and ended just below mid-thigh. The rich color turned her hair to autumn fire and made her skin look creamy. Oddly enough the purple brought out the gold in her eyes.

Surveying herself in the mirror, she turned to grab a matching pair of pumps and her evening bag. She was halfway out of the room when she remembered to go back and get her jewelry bags for the ladies to plunder. Yuna had been in earlier and picked out her outfit, but had moved so quietly she hadn't disturbed Fi's sleep.

Using one of the layers of her skirt as an impromptu bag to put everything in, Fiona then bounced out in to the main area and dumped the lot on an ottoman for the women to pick through while she put on her shoes.
