Mission: Operation: Risa!
Location: USS Bonne Chance, Deck Five, Captain O'Conner's Quarters
Timeline: 2265

Patrick returned to his quarters after his workout in hopes of getting a nice shower. Not a sonic shower, but using his real water shower... he just enjoyed that so much more. He assumed that Charybdis would be on duty on the bridge at this point, so he'd be solo in his quarters and would be able to just relax in the shower. He arrived and found things to be as he had anticipated. He stripped and got into the shower, allowing the cool water to soak his head and cascade down his body. He was so engulfed in his shower that he didn't even hear the door to his quarters open.

Muffins in hand Charybdis slipped into their quarters... really they were his quarters, but she was beginning to think of them as theirs. He had said nothing of her redecorating, and he seemed content to let her come and go as she pleased, so her own quarters were just a holdout space for her now, somewhere she could go to be alone if she so chose. He could be stubborn and a bit moody at times and she was discovering that and learning to adapt. Sometimes he needed his space, and she could live with that.

Even now, he was bathing. Another one of his water showers... he enjoyed few luxuries but that was certainly one of them, as she had discovered more than once now. She had made it a habit to insure that the shower was on sonic when she stepped into it, because twice now she had been doused with cold water and screeched like a cat. With the water running even he couldn't hear her slip in, so instead she tossed herself on the bed, arranged herself artfully amongst a few brochures and sprayed the barest hint of her perfume in the air.

He enjoyed the feel of the cool water washing over him. there was simply nothing quite like a real water shower. He shut off the water and stepped out, grabbing his towel to dry off. As he did, the scent of perfume hit his nose, followed by the scent he knew well... Charybdis. A smirk came over his face while other parts of his anatomy seemed a bit more excited to encounter her. He walked into the main living area nonchalantly, his towel draped over his shoulders, looked over at the bed and spoke softly, "Comfy?"

A seductive smile spread across her face slowly as she sat up, propping herself up with one arm as her other arm held her uniform over her form... it barely covered what would be considered decent in mixed company and it was obvious what she had in mind. "Not yet.... but I could be. Oh five forty-nine means that we have a few minutes for me to give you a briefing, a few minutes to shower and get dressed, and quite a few minutes for you to make sure that your first officer is in a remarkably good mood this morning while she works very, very hard for you..."

As an able and honest commander, Patrick did his duty and insured that his first officer would indeed be in a very, very good mood this morning. In fact, he worked rather hard to make it so.

"So, you said something about scheduling crew rotations while we are here on Risa." he murmured as he lay in bed, his labours complete.

The voluptuous vixen giggled as she traced her fingertip across his chest. "No. I'm taking care of all of that, actually. In point of fact, I've scheduled you to be off the ship for the next two weeks, starting this morning. You are meeting with the Aestus Province Receiving Station this morning to make arrangements and sign all of the documentation to handle the transfer of Starfleet credit chits and so forth. After that you'll be lunching with the station manager, and then you can come back aboard to pack, and I've arranged for a number of different activities to keep you occupied throughout your stay here."

"You are going ice fishing in the Tekunda province, then mountain biking for an endurance trail in the Selor mountains, then on a fishing boat in the arctic Caspaniel Sea, then rock climbing the frigid north face of the Garamonds, then paragliding down afterward. And when all of that wraps up, I have a little something else planned that you'll just have to figure out... but I won't make you work that hard to deduce it," she said mischievously, tapping the end of his nose with her fingertip.

"And before you think I am up to something you can review all of the reports and I will send you with a PDD and a communicator so that you can stay in touch and check up on me all you want. I am going to take two nights out to take the ladies of the senior staff shopping and nightclubbing, and otherwise I will be here making sure that the Bonne Chance is right where she belongs and ready for anything, just in case." She smiled up at him, eyebrows both raised up.

"I just want you to go enjoy yourself and relax, that's all, I promise. "ll deal with the pressures and the problems- you just let it all go, and by the time I come down I want you relaxed and happy and ready to just enjoy some time alone with me. That's all." She crossed her eyes and made an inverted Vulcan salute with the back of her hand toward him with her fingers pointed at her eyes. "Romulan's honor!"

Patrick gave a chuckle. "I am not going to even try to argue. I will go do all the things you have planned and do my best to enjoy myself. But my senior officers better spend at least 1 week on the planet, and that doesn't mean bringing work with them. Make that particularly clear to Fiona and Yuna."

"Aye aye sir... it's already in the works. Now one last minor detail... didn't you have even the remotest interest in how I managed all of this and how I am paying for it all?" She grinned up at him, eyebrows wiggling and he was reminded in that moment that though she was devoted and loyal, in her heart she was still quite devious by nature. In point of fact what she had expressed most likely would cost a small fortune.

"I'd like to think you have a small fortune squirreled away someplace, but if not, then perhaps you found my little lock box that is filled with latinum. I should think that if you did find that, and did take out some of the currency, that it will magically find its way back inside my lock box before I return to the ship in two weeks." He had a wicked smile on his face with all the cloak and dagger they were doing here in a playful way.

"A lock box filled with latinum? Here in these very quarters? Perish the thought, human. I would never dream to borrow money from the Captain. However, it seems that there was not sufficient room to transfer the full contents of Admiral Thog's vault over to the Surok, and some of it was left behind. I had to find a way to dispose of it, so... since there was shore leave and currency is valid on Risa, I made a command decision and paid for the crew's shore leave with it. Well, you did, technically." She smiled up at him hopefully. "I kept a bit out for necessities and spending cash to take the senior staff out and whatnot, and for a rainy day. Apparently piracy was quite profitable."

"You aren't upset, are you...?"

Patrick had a stern look on his face. "I should be furious, but I suppose we can call it reparations for damages done to the ship. Let us not make a habit of such things though, yes?"

Solemnly she nodded. "Yessir. It was put towards the greater good... and the majority of it was turned over to the Federation. I just wanted to do something good with what was left over, that's all."

"Very well. I suppose I should get dressed. I apparently have a meeting planetside."

"You do," she replied, and looked chagrined. Somehow the excitement of having orchestrated all of this had been swept away by his disapproval, and she moped as she moved to the bathroom to take a shower.

He watched her walk away, her shoulders slumped, and he realized she had not caught the jovial nature of some of his comments, instead taking them as criticism for her thoughtful gestures. He got up and walked in behind her, then spun her around gently and embraced her, kissing her deeply. He brushed an errant hair away from her face and smiled at her fondly.

"You know I love you lass... I hope you never forget that. Now, I think maybe I got a few more minutes to show you how much I appreciate what you have done before I got to go. After all, I am the captain..." and then he kissed her deeply.

She returned the kiss, pressing herself against him, then she looked up at him. "So I did good?" she asked simply, those nebulous violet eyes searching his own.

"Sure," he replied as a broad smile spread across his face. "I suppose."
