Mission: Operation: Risa!
Location: USS Bonne Chance, Deck One, the Bridge
Timeline: 2265

Lieutenant Junior Grade Selune had done her job and done it well, and they were in a stable synchronous orbit over the planet below, one thousand kilometers over Aestus Province Receiving Station, where the crew would be entering and leaving the resort planet. Beaming across the planet from resort to resort was quite common, but the Risians had developed the system of receiving stations to accommodate starships and luxury liners to prevent mass migrations into singular resorts. Instead this allowed for easier traffic control, as well as insuring smooth customs controls. In addition, this port had been chosen because planetary time and shipboard time matched, thus reducing confusion for all parties involved.

"Destination reached, geosynchronous orbit achieved above the requested coordinates ma'am. We are locked in over Risa," the Caitan helmsman chirped cheerfully.

"Excellent! Thank you Miss Selune," Lieutenant Commander Charybdis spun the command chair about... she tried not to, but it was obvious to the bridge crew that she was becoming more and more fond of that chair the longer the Captain left her in it, and he did so quite often. She stopped it with near precision- still not quite perfect in her stops, but she seemed willing to keep practicing. At the moment her attention was focused on the Communication station, and the green-skinned wizard of wordplay who manned the alpha shift's nunnations needs.

Coolly he cocked an eyebrow at the First Officer, his finger floating over the controls, pressing buttons and snapping switches in anticipation of her request. "Mister Andurean, would you be so kind as to patch me through to the entire vessel please?"

He nodded almost imperceptibly, then glanced the the control panel on the left side of the command chair, indicating that he had routed control through to her. For a brilliant communications officer he was an interesting study in terse lack of communication when working- only the very minimum to express what needed to be said or done. Charybdis was still trying to get used to him... but she certainly would have time, it seemed. At least he was not rude or confrontational, and she could be grateful for that.

With a flip of a switch the ship's intercom system came to life, and instead of the martial baritone of command, a sultry and prowling seductive voice floated out over the speakers ship wide, causing more than one head to turn. The First Officer was in a remarkably good mood.

"Attention all hands, attention all hands, now hear this: crew of the USS , this is your first officer speaking. We have now achieved standard orbit above Risa, the resort planet." She paused at that, imagining that there must be some voices raised in good cheer at that sentiment... there certainly were some on the bridge. She flipped the switch once more with a smile to activate the comms. "Shore leave will commence as soon as all departments have their adjusted duty rosters and leave schedules submitted and approved by the Captain, who is currently planetside making final arrangements for our ship wide shore leave."

"Be safe, have fun and don't overdo it too much down there people... we don't want Doctor McKenzie and the sickbay staff to get overworked because we played a bit too hard. Assuming that all reports are filed on time shore leave will commence at 1800 hours."

At that she snapped off the comms and nodded back to Lieutenant Junior Grade Andurean that she was finished. Steepling her fingers she regarded the lush planet orbiting below.

Charybdis had plans for Risa... oh yes, she most certainly did have plans.
